The Experience
You can expect to feel comfy, cozy and confident! I'll guide you through light direction and prompting so you won't feel left in the dust, but know that I don't need or want you to do anything "perfectly". I want you and your family to just be YOU because that's the most beautiful thing ever. I'll have some tunes playing, we'll have some fun exploring the outdoors and enjoying this time you've carved out for your family to play and love on each other. At the end, you'll have a gallery full of images that make your heart sing and your eyes water!

It's simple! Just click one of the buttons above or click here to fill out my contact form for your inquiry. Expect a reply from me within 48hr. We will talk dates and, once you choose the date that works for you, you'll get a contract and invoice to pay your $150 non refundable deposit.
HOW DO WE PAY?
I accept all major credit cards through my online secure system and also accept Venmo, Paypal, and cash.
I also offer payment plans upon request and simply require the full payment to be completed 1 week before the session. We can tailor the payment plan however you need.
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER OR LIFE?
Life happens. I think any mom can understand that! I do offer one complimentary reschedule. Additional reschedules require a new retainer fee to hold another date.
WHERE WILL OUR SESSION BE?
My sessions are typically held in Bakersfield, CA or nearby surrounding areas unless discussed otherwise. Clients will usually leave the location choice up to me, but I do encourage you to take a gander of my instagram feed (or bomb ass website by Lauren) to see if any certain locations call to them.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY MATERNITY SHOOT?
I suggest booking while you are in your second trimester. For the actual session you should be anywhere from 28-33wks pregnant. Every woman's body is different but we want to be able to see your baby bump!
CAN MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER BE A PART OF MY MATERNITY SESSION? WILL IT COST EXTRA?
Hell yes they can! If you want them there, so do I! And no, of course not! They are totally included in the session fee and I will even help style them as well if you'd like!
HOW DOES STYLING WORK? IS THERE A FEE?
Absolutely NOT. Not only is styling one of my favorite parts of the process, it's an absolutely integral element of your photo session. I want you to look good and to feel good no matter what type of session you booked. Styling is complimentary with all of my sessions, and my client closet is accessible as well!*
I heavily encourage styling for your session as it really can make or break the final results. If you want images like you see on my website and socials, styling is KEY! It's totally your choice and I respect any decision you make.
I typically style mom first, then daughters, then sons, and finally dad. This is a collaborative effort and you have ultimate say on anything I suggest. I will often create a style board so you can see it all put together and give the final "hell yeah!"
*Client closet is free to use for full sessions, and is accessible to rent from for minis and micros!
what is your turnaround time?
You will receive an email with your gallery link within 4 weeks of our session date.
DO YOU SHOOT NEWBORN PHOTOS?
Yes but only as outdoor family sessions! As someone who used to be a traditional, posed newborn photographer, I found that I love focusing on the newness of the family as a whole, rather than putting baby into more complex postures. If you're looking for a more traditional, classic newborn photographer, ask me for recommendations and I would be happy to refer a couple of my faves to you!
DO YOU photograph weddings?
As of very recently, yes! However, I don't do them as Aspen Dawn Photo. A super fun and talented local photographer friend and I started the wedding photo duo called Wild Moon Weddings! You can currently find us on Instagram here: @wild.moon.weddings
